I've worked on AFL bodies, broken my own, and rebuilt both. That's why I treat differently.
Before I was a physio, I was a plumber, a cabinet maker, and a labourer. I know what it means to use your body for a living — and what it costs when it starts breaking down. That experience shapes everything about how I treat.
I played football through my teens and twenties. Chronic hip and groin pain eventually forced me off the field — but not before I'd done the rounds of every treatment you can think of. Physio, chiro, massage, rest, repeat. Nothing stuck. I lived the injury cycle I now help people break.
That frustration is what drove me into physiotherapy. Not to do what everyone else was doing — but to figure out why it wasn't working. The answer, every time, came back to the same thing: capacity. The body wasn't broken. It was underloaded. Nobody was rebuilding it. They were just quieting it down and hoping for the best.
I've spent the last 15+ years applying that principle to everyone from AFL athletes to tradies who can't afford a day off. I founded Feel Good Physio Co. in Greenfields to deliver the kind of physio I wish I'd had when I was the one stuck in the cycle.
Most physio clinics are built around sessions. You come in, get treated, feel better for a day or two, and come back when it flares again. That model works for the clinic. It doesn't work for you.
Everything I do at Feel Good Physio Co. is built on one principle: your body adapts to what you load it with. If you only ever rest an injury, the capacity never improves. If you progressively load it — systematically, with structure — the tissue gets stronger, the tolerance increases, and the flare-ups stop.
That's not a theory. That's what the evidence says. And it's what I've seen work — in elite sport and in everyday life — for 15 years.
"I built this because I refused to accept that the answer was to manage the problem. There's always a way to rebuild."
Same-day appointments available. Or apply for The Comeback Code if you're dealing with a recurring injury that standard treatment hasn't fixed.
