If you're in Mawson Lakes and your usual clinic is fully booked — or you've been through the rest-and-return cycle more times than you can count — Feel Good Physio Co. is three minutes down Main North Road in Green Fields, and I have availability this week.
I'm James Brown — physiotherapist with 7 years in private practice and 10 years working in sport. Sports trainer at Port Power (AFL) and Port Magpies (SANFL). Currently the Head Physiotherapist at Adelaide Croatia Raiders in the NPL SA — South Australia's National Premier Leagues football competition. I built this clinic for active adults who want to actually understand why they keep getting hurt and build a plan that fixes it — not a quick rub and a stretch.
Whether you're doing park run around the lake, or you're just trying to get through the workday without your back seizing up — I see all of it.
Common conditions I treat for Mawson Lakes patients include:
Lower back pain — chronic, recurring, disc-related and sciatica
Knee pain — ACL rehab, meniscus, patellofemoral pain, IT band syndrome
Shoulder pain — rotator cuff, impingement, frozen shoulder, AC joint
Hip and groin pain — gluteal tendinopathy, hip OA, adductor issues
Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, calf strains, ankle sprains
Neck pain, cervicogenic headaches and thoracic pain
Post-surgical rehab — ACL, rotator cuff, hip and knee replacements
Sports injuries — hamstrings, return-to-sport rehab, recurring injury patterns
Same-week availability. If you need to be seen this week, I can usually see you this week. Solo practice means I know exactly what my diary looks like — no overbooking. If your usual clinic has a week-plus wait and you're dealing with something that needs attention now, that matters.
Same physio, every visit. Every appointment at Feel Good Physio Co. is with me. No rotating roster of practitioners. No explaining your history from scratch to someone new. When I saw you six weeks ago and tried something specific — I remember. That continuity changes how well rehab works.
Sports-focused, not sport-exclusive. You don't need to be a competitive athlete to see me. But the principles I use — progressive loading, capacity building, return-to-activity criteria from elite sport — apply just as well to a 42-year-old who wants to keep running as they do to an NPL footballer.
Honest timelines. I'll tell you how long this is going to take and what it depends on. I won't keep you coming back indefinitely if you don't need to. The goal is to get you to a point where you don't need me — with the knowledge and capacity to manage your own body.
Your first appointment is 30 minutes. Iassess what's happening, not just where it hurts, but why. Most people I see have already tried the "rest and come back" approach and it hasn't worked. That's because rest treats the symptom, not the cause.
I'll assess your movement, identify where the system is breaking down, and build you a progressive plan. No guessing. Every session is with me — same physio, same memory of what we tried six weeks ago — so the plan gets sharper with every visit, not muddier.
Follow-up sessions are focused and efficient. You book when you need to. We reassess at each session. We stop when the job is done — not when a 6-session block runs out.
The clinic is inside CrossFit TRG at Green Fields SA 5107 — a three-minute drive down Main North Road from the Mawson Lakes town centre. Under five minutes from the UniSA Mawson Lakes campus. Four minutes from shopping centre. Free parking directly outside.
If you're stuck in the injury cycle — getting hurt, resting, feeling okay, going back to activity, getting hurt again — The Comeback Code is a 12-week physio-led strength and conditioning program designed to break that loop. It's built for active adults aged 30–50 who are done with short-term fixes and ready to build real, lasting resilience.
Ask about it at your next appointment or visit the website to learn more.
Do you see patients from Mawson Lakes?
Yes. Mawson Lakes residents make up a significant part of the clinic's patient base. The drive is three to four minutes on Main North Road — it's closer than most people expect.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Usually within the same week. Check the booking calendar for current availability — I update it in real time. If you're in pain now, call or book online and I'll do my best to see you quickly.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly online. A GP referral is only required if you're using an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan or DVA. WorkCover claims are welcome — contact me before booking to confirm your claim details.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes. HICAPS is available on-site, which means your rebate is processed at the appointment. Most major funds are accepted — check with your fund for your specific extras cover.
What happens at the first appointment?
40 minutes. Full history, movement assessment, hands-on examination, and a clear explanation of what's going on and why. You'll leave with a diagnosis (or a working one if we need imaging to confirm) and a plan.
What sports do you work with?
All of them, but my background is strongest in football (AFL, SANFL, and NPL SA soccer), running, gym-based training, and CrossFit. If your sport is different, that doesn't disqualify you — the injury patterns are more similar across sports than people think.
What if I've already seen another physio and it hasn't worked?
That's one of the most common reasons people book in. I'll do my own assessment from scratch, not assuming the previous diagnosis was right. Often the issue isn't that the treatment was wrong — it's that it wasn't progressed far enough.
Do you do dry needling or acupuncture?
Dry needling is available as a component of treatment where it's clinically indicated — not as a standalone modality. I don't use acupuncture as a primary treatment approach.
Can I park easily?
Yes. Free parking directly in front of the clinic at CrossFit TRG. No time limits.
Do you treat kids?
No. I work exclusively with adults. For paediatric physiotherapy, you'd need a clinic with a specific paediatric scope.
No referral needed. Same-week availability. Book online directly, or call the clinic. I accept private health insurance (HICAPS on-site for instant rebates), WorkCover, DVA, and EPC referrals.
